Dr. Jacki Meinhardt, DNP, FNP-BC is a nurse practitioner, research scientist, and global leader in functional and integrative medicine. Actively practicing in Northern Virginia, Dr. Meinhardt holds a doctoral degree in neuroscience, integrative medicine, and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Meinhardt's research regarding the early detection of brain injury and proliferative pathology using genomic assays and brain imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and NeuroQuant analysis is internationally known. She is passionate in the pursuit of how to prevent memory loss and neurodegenerative brain disease through the combination of appropriate medical care, environmental and lifestyle modifications involving diet, nutrition, physical and intellectual fitness.
Dr. Meinhardt believes has identified a wide range of mental health pathologies including chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS), anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and stress related symptoms or disorders are caused by embedded infections throughout the body. "There is a direct connection between the immune system, mental health, and brain pathology."
Throughout her career, Dr. Meinhardt has received several fellowships, Federal and non-Federal grants, and private donations to support her research. Her work has been presented at multiple international conferences.
When not with patients, Jacki is the Optimal Performance Coach for the Women's Crew team at Georgetown University.
